Hailing from Brisbane, Australia -Dario Scalabrini is a passionate performer who has been described as a “young dynamo” (Limelight Magazine) with “great emotional range” (Brisbane Stage).
Dario has worked with eminent artists and organisations including the Finnish Radio Symphony, Elision Ensemble, Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra, Auckland Philharmonia, Kuopio Symphony Orchestra, Jyväskylä Sinfonia, Simone Young, Lawrence Power, Ensemble Q and Southern Cross Soloists. In addition, he has featured as a solo artist for the Castlemaine State Festival, Melbourne Recital Centre and Brisbane Music Festival.
Dario is currently studying a Master of Music at the Sibelius Academy under the tutelage of Christoffer Sundqvist. He has also studied with David Thomas at the Australian National Academy of Music and with A/Prof Paul Dean at the Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University. Dario is generously supported by the Australian Music Foundation, Ian Potter Cultural Trust and the PPCA. Dario has received awards from The Ursula Hoff Institute, The Brisbane Club and The Rotary Club of Brisbane for outstanding musical performance.
